Calendar Reflection

Calendar Reflections

Most college students go out and party often. However, I feel as though partying takes away from the college experience.

Due to the fact that I am unlike many college students, I feel as if I have very good time management.

My schedule has a basic routine for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and Tuesday and Thursday because the classes are the same for those days.

On days where my roommate and myself have extended schedules, we take rest days from the gym in order to save the remainder of our energy on doing homework.

During the weekdays, I plan on getting 6-7 hours of sleep, but a few extra hours on the weekends.

I am able to dedicate a significant amount of time studying and on doing homework because I get easily distracted. From past experience, I know I need a lot of time to do homework and study in order to succeed, which is why I am trying to dedicated many hours a day to doing homework.

Also, I am part of a long distance relationship. I have to be flexible with my homework and relaxation times in order to schedule FaceTimes and phone calls with my boyfriend. I will never jeopardize my homework time unless I know that I am able to complete it for the night.

I will be able to accomplish doing a minimum of 6 hours of homework and studying for English every week.

Reflection

Jovanka Potkonjak's calendar reflection made me feel at ease because I could relate to her busy schedule. She hopes that her busy schedule will help her stay focused and not get distracted by the typical college activities. I also am hoping that my schedule will assist me from getting too distracted. Also, I workout in order to relax. Working out and studying are great ways to keep your mind and body on track for optimal performance in academics.

Austin See's schedule is completely different from mine. He works and is part of a fraternity. However, his schedule has encouraged me to add more activities to mine! Even though a lot of my free time is going to be dedicated to FaceTiming my boyfriend back home, I feel like I still could add some activities to fit my spare time. For example, I have joined the Blue Chip leadership program, but I was doubting it because I did not want to over schedule myself. I am still contemplating it, but Austin's schedule helped me see that one hour of my time once a week will not put a dent in my schedule that I have now.

  1. You're so responsible, but I feel the same way about partying too , it takes away from what i'm really here to do, which is study and get a degree. but I have a horrible and would most likely forget I had something due. You seem so structured.

  2. I wish I could say that I felt I had good time management skills! It's admirable that you have budgeted your time so well to flow around your homework and classwork. I'm planning on getting into the gym more, so I think I'll take your planning for that and try to fit it into my schedule with my gym partner!
